Plant Maintenance Guide

In general, climbers are pruned in the autumn or spring period. The purpose of pruning is firstly to remove all dead and diseased wood and secondly to encourage growth and flowering within the framework. It is at this time that any repairs and extensions to the existing climbing framework can be made with least disturbance to the general health of the plant.
