Garden Plans and Sketches

The concept for this garden is a modern outdoor living environment which is strongly influenced by the style of the house, a large thatched building constructed in the arts ans crafts style of the last years of the 19th century and the early years of the 20th century.
The garden is large and sweeping with woodland walks and a summerhouse in the main lawn provides a focal point from the house. The curved driveway sweeps up to the house, affording attractive views of the main building. The substantial patio is spacious for outdoor entertaining and the indian stone paving is blended in with local recovered yorkstone. A low yorkstone wall gives the terrace a sense of enclosure whilst offering stunning views of the surrounding gardens.
A secluded courtyard is created with a more intimate atmosphere. The formal beds are filled with fragrant plants lending a heady charm to the 'outdoor room'.
The garden is illuminated for use in the evenings when the subtle lighting and fragrance help to create a calm and relaxing ambience.
