World Gardens
The Gardens and views selected are intended to provide a broad overview of
the styles and interpretations given to gardens throughout the world.
Unless otherwise stated, the gardens are the work of unknown designers. It
is not my intention to necessarily depict the most aspirational gardens, nor
the most stunning. In some instances, the views are almost banal. Nevertheless,
these gardens are typical examples of those found in the particular region
of the world.
In all cases, the photos were taken during the course of a couple of hours
of the afternoon or morning walking around the streets or through a 'themed'
public attraction.
Mondo Verde Located in the south
of The Netherlands near the town of Kerkgrade, this themed park covers several
hectares.
Australian Front Gardens These
photos, taken during the month of December, depict typical front gardens in
Melbourne and Geelong.
Streetscapes in Maastricht The
historical city of Maastricht has many interesting examples of how plants
have been used to soften the landscaping and in some cases highlight and add
emphasis to entrances.
Dutch Front Gardens These photos
depict typical front gardens in Cadier en Keer.
